Battery User’s Guide

1. A new battery usually maintains a discharged or 30% charge condition with very low capacity. It is highly recommended to fully charge new battery packs before using.

2. A new battery pack needs to be cycled (fully discharge and charge) two to three times to reach its optimum performance.

3. Rechargeable battery will undergo self-discharging when left unused for a long period of time. Thus, it should always be stored in a fully charged state and kept in a cool, dry and clean place.

4. To maintain the optimum performance of a battery pack, it is highly recommended to cycle (fully discharging and charging) it at least once a month.

5. It is normal if a new battery gets warm when being charged or used. However, please pay special attention if the battery pack becomes excessively hot. This may indicate there is a problem with the charging circuit of the electronic device. Please consult a qualified technician if necessary.

6. New batteries are hard to be charged. Sometimes, your electronic device may indicate a fully charged condition about 10 to 15 minutes when the new battery pack is being charged for the first time. When this happens, remove the battery and let it cool down for about 10 to 15 minutes then repeat the charging procedure. Sometimes, a new battery will suddenly refuse to be charged. If this happens, a suggested solution is trying to remove the battery from the laptop and insert it again.

7. It is recommended to conduct a complete charge and discharge cycle for the battery every month on average.

8. Don’t discharges battery to 0%, which is the most common reason among faulty batteries. It will damage battery if the laptop usually works at a critical power level (below 3%).

9. Charge the battery before it runs to 20%. It is scientifically justified that charging battery at 20% till 80% will extend battery life to the longest.

10. If the battery won’t be used for a long time, please charge it once a month and keep battery power over 50%, remove it from your laptop and store it in an antistatic bag in a cool, dry place.

Battery Do's

1- Do use the Suspend or Hibernate feature when taking a break.
2- Do minimize the number of programs and/or applications running at the same time. Quit any of the programs/applications that are not in use.
3- Do set the windows Power Management settings to maximum savings.
4- Do make sure that the laptops power management features in the bios and operating system are optimized, turning off the screen, using speed step.
5- Do lower the brightness setting on the screen backlight.
6- Do disconnect any unused devices such as modems, wireless cards, Bluetooth and USB devices.
7- Do sore batteries in a dry, cool place at 30-50% charge level. Some reserve charge is needed to keep the battery and its protection circuit operational during prolong.
8- Do fully charge/discharge battery up to 4 cycles before achieving full capacity of a new battery.
9- Do full discharge and then fully charge the battery every two or three week or every month for battery conditions.
10- Do run the device under the battery’s power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning then recharge the battery.
11- Do remove the battery from laptop and stored in a cool, dry, clean place if the battery will not be in use for a month or longer.
12- Do recharge the battery after a storage period.
13- Do while putting the laptops inside the bag make sure the laptop is switched off.
14- Do avoid exposing the battery to extreme heat and cold, moisture or water, chemistry liquid
15- Do if battery is used to supply power, it is advised to use up the power before recharging.
16- Do it is normal for the battery to get warm when it is in use because battery produces heat the process of charging or discharging converts its energy. Besides, laptop will also transfer some heat to battery when it is operating. if it is getting hot, there may be a problem.

Battery Dont's

1- Don’t short-circuit a battery. A short-circuit may cause damage to the battery.
2- Don’t drop, hit or otherwise abuse the battery as this may result in the exposure of the cell contents, which are corrosive.
3- Don’t expose the battery to moisture or rain. Keep battery away from fire or other sources of extreme heat or extreme cold. Do not freeze your battery.
4- Don’t leave your laptop on overnight all the time while charging. The laptop should be turned off occasionally.
5- Don’t throw away or dispose of your battery with household waste. Please recycle all batteries, as they contain chemicals which are harmful to the environment.
6- Don’t incinerate. Exposure of batteries to extreme heat may result in an explosion.
7- Don’t forget to take away your battery from the device if you will not use it for a long time.
8- Don’t liquid immerge into battery. Once liquid gets into battery, stop using the battery. Use a piece of cloth to wipe it up and transfer it to places with good ventilation for dry-up. Or it will cause danger.
9- Don’t use the laptop on surfaces of such soft objects as bad, sofa, carpet, remember not to weaken the laptop’s ability to release heat.
